Public Health Programs

Overview

Our goal is to provide quality countywide public health services. Public health is PREVENTION for a better life, PROMOTION for your health, and PROTECTION for you, your family, and your community.

Our programs include:

Communicable Disease

In the Communicable Disease Program we investigate individual cases and outbreaks of reportable communicable diseases and conditions. This helps identify outbreaks and to control the spread of diseases. We also provide information to the public about diseases that do not require reporting.

Immunization Programs

Linn County Public Health offers children's immunizations as well as some adult immunizations. Information regarding specific immunizations is available.

Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Preparedness involves planning and preparing for emergencies in our community. Everyone will benefit from being ready when a significant event takes place that disrupts a large portion of our county or country.

WIC Nutrition Program

WIC Nutrition Program is a program of nutrition education, vouchers and referrals for low income pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum women.

Reproductive Health

Reproductive Health offers birth control at low or no cost; female physical exams; STD testing and treatment for both males and females; pregnancy testing, as well as vasectomy counseling.

Maternal-Child Health Programs

Maternal-Child Health Programs provides access to programs designed to help pregnant women obtain care, education, infant assessment, parenting information, and referrals.

Wellness

Disease prevention provided through community health promotion and education.

Oregon's expanded Smokefree Workplace Law went into effect on January 1, 2009. Find out how this law might effect you.

Vital Statistics

Vital Statistics provides for registration of births and deaths in the county or how to obtain copies of birth/death certificates.
