Our goal is to provide quality county-wide public health services. Public health is PREVENTION for a better life, PROMOTION for your health, and PROTECTION for you, your family, and your community.

Community Health Assessment

Linn County Public Health conducted a community health assessment in the spring of 2012. The Community Health Assessment (CHA) is an inclusive look at the health of Linn County. The CHA is comprised of four individual sections: Community Health Status Report, Local Public Health System Assessment, Key Informant interviews and The Quality of Life Survey. The information collected in this Assessment is the evidence used to support priority areas included in Linn County's Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

Please provide comments, questions, or any other feedback on this feedback form.

Communicable Disease

In the Communicable Disease Program we investigate individual cases and outbreaks of reportable communicable diseases and conditions. This helps identify outbreaks and to control the spread of diseases. We also provide information to the public about diseases that do not require reporting.

Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Preparedness involves planning and preparing for emergencies in our community. Everyone will benefit from being ready when a significant event takes place that disrupts a large portion of our county or country.

Immunization Programs

Linn County Public Health offers children's immunizations as well as some adult immunizations. Information regarding specific immunizations is available.

Linn County Medical Reserve Corps

The Linn County Medical Reserve Corps (LCMRC) is a team of volunteers available to provide extra personnel in the event of a public health emergency or disaster. Volunteers come from a variety of professional backgrounds, from medical to administrative fields, and are trained by the LCMRC in emergency preparedness and response activities. Please visit the Linn County Medical Reserve Corps page for more information or to learn how to volunteer.

Tobacco Prevention

The focus of Linn County Tobacco Prevention and Education program is to eliminate and reduce exposure to secondhand smoke and to promote quitting. The program also helps to provide information and resources on tobacco related state and local laws.
