Tobacco Prevention and Education Program

The mission of Linn County Tobacco Prevention & Education Program (TPEP) is to reduce tobacco-related illness and death. To reach this goal the program focuses on:

  1. Creating Tobacco-Free Environments.
  2. Preventing Tobacco Initiation among Youth and Young Adults.
  3. Promoting Quitting among Adults and Youth.
  4. Identifying and Eliminating Disparities in Tobacco Use.
  5. Enforcing Tobacco-Related Laws.

The TPEP program helps develop policies to reduce exposure to secondhand smoke and counter influences of the tobacco industry. We work collaboratively for tobacco-free schools, hospitals, community colleges, smoke-free multi-unit housing and workplaces. The TPEP at Linn County is supported by grant funds from the Oregon State Tobacco Prevention & Education Program.
