Feeding Babies Solid Food

Our goal is to provide quality countywide public health services. Public health is prevention for a better life, promotion for your health, and protection for you, your family, and your community.

Overview

Gradually Start Foods in this Order
4 to 6 months Infant cereal (rice cereal first)
100% fruit juice (not orange juice)
6 to 8 months vegetables
Fruit's (not fruit desserts)
8 to 10 months yogurt, beans, meats
Start juice from a cup (not a bottle).
Feed all foods with a spoon.
After four months offer infants cereal once or twice a day from a spoon.
Feed your baby iron formula until age 1 or breast-feed as long as you wish.
