The Administrative Officer oversees the following Departments that provide supporting functions for Linn County's operations:

These supporting functions include management of activities involving facilities and information technology systems, motor pool, geographic information systems and printing and supplies.The functions also include budget development, risk management (insurance), accounting (payroll, accounts payable, audit), property management, labor relations and personnel management services for the County. In addition, Veteran's Services provides assistance to the County's Veterans and their families; the County Attorney provides legal services; the Law Library provides legal research materials and assistance and the Mediation/Arbitration Program offers services in cooperation with the State Courts.
