Mental Health Promotion & Prevention

The Linn County Prevention Program is part of a regional mental health promotion and mental illness prevention project. Regional partners include IHN-CCO, Benton County Health Department and Lincoln County Health Department. Current outreach includes Mental Health First Aid classes (Youth & Adult) and "Question. Persuade. Refer." (QPR) suicide prevention trainings.

Mental Health First Aid for Adults

Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges or crisis in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring adults how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. "Question, Persuade, Refer" (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training

"Question, Persuade, Refer" (QPR) are three steps anyone can take to prevent suicide.
