County receives 4 bids for Mill City bridge project
ALBANY — Four bids for the Cedar Creek Pedestrian Bridge Project in Mill City were opened at Tuesday’s meeting of the Linn County Board of Commissioners.
Bids were submitted by: Farline Bridge, Stayton, $205,225; Legacy Contractors, Stayton, $228,856.50; Oregon State Bridge Construction, Stayton, $394,070.50; Cascade Civil Corp, Redmond, $402,374.
Tuesday’s bids will be evaluated to ensure they meet county requirements and brought back to the commissioners with an award recommendation at next Tuesday’s board meeting.
The project will replace a small timber pedestrian bridge that was burned in the September 2020 wildfire. The original bridge was constructed to carry railroad traffic and was converted to a pedestrian bridge after the rail line was closed.
Linn County is administering this FEMA funded project for the City of Mill City.
In other business, the commissioners:
- Approved the purchase of liquid asphalt emulsion for the county Road Department’s annual road chip sealing program from Western Emulsions.
- Accepted land at no cost from the City of Millersburg for the Old Salem Road project.
- Approved a sub-recipient agreement for the pass-through of $138,050 in federal funding to the Senior Citizens of Sweet Home (Linn Shuttle).
- Approved the purchase of two 12’ X 60’ modular buildings for $317,222 through King County Directors Association Purchasing Cooperative to be placed at the Willamette Health Center.
- Approved a contract with Samaritan Health Services to provide psychiatric services of eight hours per week for $6,453 per month.
